So, if you would like to try another way and I’m guessing if you are reading this post then you would. Read on to learn how to relieve pain naturally.
Endorphins
Endorphins are chemical hormones produced by the body as a response to certain stimuli, especially stress, fear or pain. They originate in various parts of your body, the pituitary gland, your spinal cord and throughout other parts of your brain and nervous system. They interact mainly with receptors in cells found in regions of the brain responsible for blocking pain and controlling emotion. But they also induce feelings of pleasure and euphoria.
The body produces endorphins to relieve pain, and they can rival the pain relief brought on by medications. They block pain signals before they reach your brain, and can also help alleviate anxiety, stress, and depression.
Painkillers work by blocking pain messages in your brain and spinal cord. Endorphins naturally block pain by binding to opioid receptors in the spinal cord and other parts of the nervous system.
The good news is that endorphins can also be raised naturally. So, read on to learn how to relieve pain naturally.

Natural Remedies
Exercise: Any activity that increases your heart rate for a sustained period will trigger the release of endorphins.
Smell: Sweet and pleasant scents have been shown to reduce the perception of pain. Try smelling some essential oils especially lavender as this is said to have pain relieving and anti – inflammatory properties.
Hot: Applying heat to the joints causing pain can go a long way toward easing your discomfort. It increases blood flow to the site and suppresses pain signals to the brain. Use a hot water bottle, gel-filled pad heated in the microwave, electric heating pad, or hot bath to deliver heat therapy. Or try a heat wrap, which can provide heat for several hours while you go about your day.
Cold: Regardless of your type of arthritis, it can cause inflammation in your joints. Ice is an excellent way to reduce inflammation. It also slows nerve impulses, which can interrupt the pain signals.
Sleep: Getting enough sleep is important to promoting healing and managing pain so try and get a healthy amount of sleep.
